Cuyabeno
The Cuyabeno Reserve is located in the North of Ecuador, close to Colombia. From 1979 the reserve is considered protected area. The reserve has 655.000 hectares and mainly consists of flooded forest. In the short dry season the area is considered a rain forest but during the rainy season water levels rise and almost the whole area is covered in water.
Main part of the wildlife is to be seen in the three tops, a unique experience when observing this from your canoe. In the reserve you can find crocodiles, monkeys, anacondas, turtles, sweet water dolphins, and many different species of birds.
