The Kapari Lodge & Spa is a perfect oasis of comfort housed within the tropical forest of the Andean Chocó, one of the most biodiverse places on the planet.

The Kapari Lodge has 12 comfortable and modern suites of which 8 with an unparalleled panoramic view of the forest and the Rio Blanco, and 4 jacuzzi suites. The 4 jacuzzi suites are arranged along the beautiful internal gardens of the lodge. Each suite includes a private bathroom with hot water, an attractive anteroom, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and a fan. The suites are ideal for groups, families, couples, and solo travelers. As well for tourists and adventurers.

Discover at your own pace the beauty of the forest from our bird watching hideaway, learn about the cycle of life in our butterfly garden or explore the forest through our trials and explore the fascinating wildlife.

After a busy day exploring the forest, you can rest in one of our spacious panoramic view rooms or spa. Take a dive in the outdoor pool and relax in the jacuzzi. For the more active among us, an entire sports court is available or immerse yourself in nature and its renewed energy and be part of our yoga and guided meditation sessions.

Day1

Start your adventure from Quito early in the morning. After a 2-hour trip crossing the Andes mountains and experiencing a drastic change of landscape, as you descend from 2800 meters above sea level to 1000 meters above sea level, at Kapari Natural Lodge, you'll be welcomed with a refreshing local drink before starting the activities that will take you to discover the richness of the Chocó forest. We’ll walk about 2 hours to reach the Blanco river, during the walk through this biodiverse forest you will have the chance to observe the representative flora and fauna of the Andean Chocó, encounters with tanagers, hummingbirds, toucans, among other species may be possible. On your return a well-deserved gourmet lunch awaits you in the restaurant. In the afternoon, you have the option of walking the Latitude 0 trail, where you have the occasion to be in two hemispheres in a single day and learn more about the endemic flora and fauna, until you reach the waterfall of the same name, with an impressive view of the Rio Blaco. Another alternative is to enjoy our modern facilities with heated pool, panoramic jacuzzi, games room, soccer field, bird garden or relax with a massage in our Spa cabin. In the evening you'll enjoy a fusion dinner with international and local specialties. An alternative night activity is the walk along our trails, to be able to spot a variety of species such as amphibians, reptiles, insects and some nocturnal mammals and birds.
Day2

Early in the morning we'll observe the colorful birds of Chocó. To help visitors easily see more than 40 species of birds and some mammals, there are strategically chosen sites, to observe certain species without having to walk more than 200 meters from your room. Developed especially for photographers and bird lovers, we have a hiding place, a space of silence for the sighting of around 35 species of birds in approx. 1 hour: hummingbirds, toucans, tanagers, seedlings, trepatroncos, mosquito nets, anteaters, motmot, among others, as well as some species of mammals such as the mate head, agouti, squirrels, and at night the Guanta, one of the important rodents of the reserve. After this exciting experience, our traditional Kapari breakfast will be served, to take energy to go over the Owl trail, you will walk across a cliff, crossing several viewpoints with spectacular landscapes of the valley and the Blanco river. A tour to admire the beauty of the biological corridor of Chocó Andino as on the balcony of a botanical garden. In this extraordinary walk it's possible to observe impressive birds, such as the eagle owl and 4 species of toucans. From our hotel it‘s possible to discover the hidden wonders of the mountains, the valley and the Blanco river. We have several ecological trails for day and night walks, nature observation, bird watching, butterfly garden, exotic flowers, streams and water springs. For better exploration, we have a system of trails established at different heights. In addition, people with disabilities can travel the scenic route by vehicle and enjoy the viewpoints. This magical experience in Kapari ends after a great expedition through the forest, and then embarks on its journey back to Quito. End of services.

An excellent option is to visit our spa to enjoy one of the exquisite therapies and treatments designed for the benefit of your body and spirit; you can also have fun in the heated pool and relax in the panoramic jacuzzi, use the games room or the soccer field, as well as visit the bird garden where you'll find much peace. If your choice is adventure, we'll take you along the path of the roadrunner, which runs 2 kms on a flat surface in the middle of the Andean forest of Chocó, the tour allows you to appreciate the biodiversity of the region and it could be possible to observe one of the emblematic species of Kapari: the Banded Ground-Cuckoo roadrunner, one of the rarest birds that can be found in Ecuador and in the neotropics. This trail connects with the Blanco river and lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes, stopping at strategic sites for nature observation; toucans, trogons, trepatroncos and anthills are typical on this trail. It can be visited at night by specialists in herpetofauna due to its high diversity of this type of species. In the evening our chef will surprise you with a delicious dinner for your enjoyment. A new night walk will be available on another of Kapari Lodge's trails, an opportunity to marvel at the active species at night: amphibians, reptiles, insects, owls and some mammals.
Day3

From the early hours of the morning, it's possible to find numerous and fascinating birds that inhabit the Kapari Nature Reserve; it's easy to observe them from the right places for this activity. Whether or not you are a fan of birds, you'll be in awe admiring the variety, shapes, colors, sizes, flights and sounds of these captivating species. You'll have time to enjoy in silence and you'll also learn alongside our expert guides. To complement your morning activities, after a succulent breakfast, we'll show you the wonderful world of butterflies at Kapari Lodge, a refuge in the middle of the forest with the perfect habitat to provide healthy spaces in which butterflies can develop their complete cycle of life. In our Butterfly Garden we have created an ideal place to offer food, shelter and rest; which is also ideal to observe and learn about the various species that inhabit the precious natural environment of Kapari Nature Reserve. From our hotel it‘s possible to discover the hidden wonders of the mountains, the valley and the Blanco river.
