Yarina Eco Lodge

Yarina Eco Lodge is located in a strategic woof land area. The Yarina Ecological Reserve accommodates the largest microhabitat biodiversity in the Lower Napo River Region. This means, Yarina Shelters have more species of birds, plants, reptiles, and insects per hectare than other areas of the Lower Napo region.

A tropical humid forest spanning over 400 hectares. Located a one-hour canoe ride from El Coca city, in the zone of influence of Yasuní National Park, right in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest.

Yarina Eco Lodge is part of a tropical rainforest with more than 480 acres of primary forest. It is located in an area that has the greatest biodiversity of microhabitats.

Yarina Eco Lodge rooms

Yarina Eco Lodge consists of 22 comfortable and spacious single, double, triple and quadruple cabins, blending harmoniously with the ecosystem. The cabins are made with typical materials from the region, such as bamboo and the toquilla straw. They are all equipped with a private bathroom with hot-water shower, hammocks, closet, nightstand, mosquito net, and lamp.

Lodge activities

The lodge offers rich and varied activities for all tastes and interests, combining spectacular natural sceneries and wildlife with enriching cultural moments. The excursions offer visitors the possibility of observing over 380 species of birds, more than 96 species of mammals, and a whole universe of trees and age-old plants such as the 500-year-old “Ceibo.”

You will hike along trails lined with fruit trees and ride a boat along magical rivers. You will also have the opportunity to gather with local indigenous communities to get to know their unique way of living.

Day1

Reception in the city of Coca, we will navigate the Napo River for about 1 hour. Lunch at Yarina Eco Lodge. In the afternoon, we will visit the Socali Trail, characterized by the variety of jungle terrains it crosses. This trail is used as an introduction to primary forest. Return to the lodge; dinner and overnight stay.
Day2

After breakfast, we will head to the Capybara Trail, which will fill us with adventure as we cross its swampy grounds, home to a large number of palms not found in any other type of terrain. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, we will leave behind our rubber boots and hiking clothes to take a small canoe (recommended in shorts and t-shirt) and enjoy a pleasant piranha fishing experience. Before this activity, our guides will demonstrate the use of the most prominent weapon of the Amazon, the blowgun. Return to the lodge; dinner and overnight stay. In the evening, the group will go out on a canoe to observe caimans around the lagoon.
Day3

Breakfast. We will get equipped for hiking. We will take a canoe and navigate upstream into the jungle, delighting in observing butterflies, orchids, amphibians, and more until we reach the Dos Ramas Trail, where we will take a short walk to learn about medicinal plants, birds, and animals. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, we will navigate to the Napo River to enjoy its beaches, swimming, and learn about the riverbanks and their inhabitants.
Day4

Breakfast at 7 am, the canoe leaves at 8 am, and we arrive in Coca at 9 am. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Quito.

After breakfast, we will take the motorized canoe and head outside the reserve's limits to visit an indigenous family from the Quichua community of the Oriente. Our guides will instruct the group about the customs, traditions, and way of life of this community. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, we will gear up for a hike and visit the Guatusos Trail, where we will have a new opportunity to learn about the use of certain plants in indigenous culture, as well as enjoy the sounds of birds, insects, and animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day5

Breakfast at 7 am, the canoe leaves at 8 am, and we arrive at Coca at 9 am. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Quito.
